I've taken a mini siesta from the blog lately only because I'm packing up house and home and moving! The studio is moving too! Honestly, I probably couldn't have picked a worse time to do all this since there just happens to be a massive heat wave blanketing Los Angeles. It was over 100 today and I wanted to teleport myself somewhere very, very cold.
But all good things come at a price I guess!
Anyway, in the midst of the the packing and relocating I neglected my much beloved garden as well as this little blog. My poor plants seem about as drained by this heat as I do. But this morning as I was on my way out I glanced over and noticed the most stunning flower I had never seen before... My cactus plant was flowering! It was such a sight!! The flower was enormous, larger than any flower I had ever seen or grown and it was just sitting there, atop a relatively small cactus!
I had to stop to admire and photograph it. It felt like such a gift from the universe, as cheesy as that sounds. This gangly and I must admit - a far from favorite plant, just developed into something awe inspiring and magical. What a beautiful thing! It was such a powerful little reminder that there really is beauty in absolutely everything, especially where you least expect it.
Take time to smell the roses everyone, and take time to nurture your cactus plants! There are surprises waiting for you everywhere!
